Invest 92W appears likely to become a tropical depression or tropical storm on Sunday or Monday and poses a heavy rainfall threat for the Philippines...
There are no tropical cyclones.
Disturbances/invest areas:
Invest 92W (east of Mindanao): An area of low pressure (1008 hPa) has formed in the Philippine Sea just west of Palau. This system is showing signs of organization, and scatterometer data suggests the low is in the process of closing off a broad but increasingly well defined circulation center. Only a small increase in organization would result in the formation of a tropical depression or tropical storm, and this system is expected to become a tropical depression or tropical storm later today or on Monday. Interests in the Philippines, particularly in the Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan, should closely monitor the progress of this system - it is likely to produce heavy rainfall over these regions between Monday evening and Tuesday evening. By late in the week, upper-level winds are expected to become much less conducive for development.
