  • Some slow strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours, and the depression will likely become a tropical storm later today.

  • TCWS #1 (Philippines): The entirety of Mindoro, northern and northeastern Palawan, Calamian Islands, Cuyo Islands, Romblon, Masbate, the entirety of Panay, the entirety of Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Biliran, Samar, Eastern Samar, the entirety of Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Siquijor, Camiguin, Surigao del Norte, northern Surigao del Sur, northeastern Zamboanga del Norte, northern Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Agusan del Norte, northern Agusan del Sur

Hazards affecting land:

  • The depression is expected to produce areas of heavy rainfall over portions of Mindanao, the central and western Visayas, and northern Palawan during the next couple of days. Rainfall totals of up to 200 mm are possible in some areas, and this could cause flooding of low-lying areas. In addition, periods of heavy rain are possible over portions of southern Luzon and rainfall of 25 to 50 mm is possible through Wednesday.
