Discussion:

Himawari-9 infrared satellite image (Weathernerds). Mun is a swirl of low clouds with no associated convection.

All of the convection associated with Mun dissipated fairly shortly after the previous advisory, and Mun now lies as a fully exposed swirl of low clouds. Recent scatterometer data also indicates that Mun is no longer producing winds of tropical storm force. Given that convection is unlikely to redevelop given Mun being located over SSTs of about 22°C and under about 40 kts of northeasterly shear, Mun is now a post-tropical remnant low with 30 kt winds.

The remnant low is forecast to continue moving generally northward during the next day or so before merging with an extratropical low near the Kuril Islands on Tuesday.

This is the last advisory on Mun.
